Cat Story

I have a cat that lives at my parents house and sometime around the time we were married, she dissappeared. I found out recently from a friend that is taking care of the cat for me that they haven't seen her since the wedding. I told Daniel of the news and he was as devasted as I was. He volunteered to bring my cat to our new apartment from my parents house. I told Daniel that was nice but that it wasn't likely possible since we didn't even know if she would come back, and she wouldn't do well inside since she is an outside cat, plus my mom loves to have her there. On Sat, he volunteered to take me to Petsmart to look at cats to see how much they were. Lo and behold, they had cats for adoption. We looked at them, found out they were $75.00, had all their shots, and were fixed. So we decided to bring one home with us. We adopted a 3 month old, male, mane coon mix. He is such a delight! He loves to play and is not shy! The minute we brought him home, he darted out of the carrier! Isn't he cute?

Our Honeymoon

We went to Wrightsville Beach for our honeymoon! The weather was so nice, but the water was a little cold the first time we went. Daniel discovered that real quick! We did all kinds of things; built a sandcastle, swam in the water when it wasn't too cold, saw the battleship in Wilmington and visited downtown historic Wilimington where we went on a ghost walk and had homemade ice cream! The best part was our "honeymoon cottage" equipped with a porch swing and private beach access! The best part of the story is that even before we left for Wilimington, leaving our wedding night hotel, Daniel locked his keys in the trunk, and we had to pay a locksmith $125! The other best part was the bedroom at the cottage had so much light coming in at night that we hung a blanket over the window with steak knives to keep the light out! It was a fun week!

New Dwellings

Here are some pictures of our new apartment! I have had some much fun using gift cards and a few other means to make it nice!

Along the Broken Road

Daniel and I met at a Singles Dance in July 2007. I saw him from afar (he's not hard to see at 6'2"), thought he was fairly cute, and thought to myself, "I hope that guy comes and talks to me." He finally made his way over, although it took him awhile to say hello. We exchanged digits after dancing the last dance together. Even though he was living 1.5 hours away from where I lived, he showed up at my church the next sunday, and sat behind me during sunday school. He kept making comments, which I tried to ignore, but enjoyed. After church, as I was leaving the parking lot, I saw him talking to one of his friends, and stopped to join them. When I left, I later found out that, his guy friend told him he better ask me out. The next day, I distinctly remember having the thought go through my mind that went, "I wonder if he'll be the one I marry." Little, did I know. The next day, he called me for a date that weekend. We went to Olive Garden for dinner, couldn't even order we talked some much and came home around midnight, we were having some much fun. There came a second date, which did not go as well as we both had hoped. Both of us came away discouraged and ready to move on. However, both of our mothers encouraged us to continue and give each other another chance, so one night, while my sisters in-laws were in town, I went with them to a baseball game near where his parents lived. He had mentioned to me that he would be visiting them that night. I called him to see if he wanted to join me at the game. He gladly accepted and we had a blast! Then, that weekend we planned a beach trip with two of our friends, although it was mainly for us to get together. The beach trip was the true beginnings of something. We then dated 4 months, spent the holidays together, then for New Years, Daniel suprised me with a nice dinner at brazilian steakhouse, then on a carriage ride downtown, where he proposed with the ring that I had picked out three weeks earlier. Five months later we were married!
