Christmas 2009

For Christmas, we had some fun! Our schedules for work were opposite days. Dan had to work Christams Eve, and I had off so I went up and spent Xmas Eve with my family, and then when Dan got off we met at Daniel's parents house to spend Christmas Day with his family until I had to work at 12pm that day. Here are some fun pictures from both places! Merry Christmas to all! I will upload more Xmas pictures to our google page!

Fair Trade

After weeks of much thought and consideration of where he could go, this past week, I packed up my beloved Tigger and drove him 1.5 hours to my parents house, where he is currently enjoying the outdoors and being a cat. The following week, my house has never been so clean! I love it! Of course, a small part in us misses him, but the clean house is worth it! Much thanks to my wonderful parents!

Kid-free Halloween

Halloween was fun even though we didnt dress up this year. I had to work from 12-9pm, so Daniel had the day to do fun things. He was so nice to go out and find us some pumpkins to carve, believe it or not, there was only one place in Greenville that had any, then he bought a favorite Halloween movie of mine, and we watched it while we carved our pumpkins, the ever famous Hocus Pocus! It was a fun night!

October Trip! Fishing and NC Mountains!

Daniel's parents invited us on a trip to the mountains of NC! We took 4 full days! It was great! Thrusday, we drove up, then had dinner. On Friday, the guys went fishing, while us girls went shopping in Blowing Rock. Saturday, we visited Dan's cousin that is attending Applachian. Lucky for us, it rained most of the morning, plus they had a homecoming football game, so we didn't get to see much of Boone or the campus. It was just nice to be away from work, spend time with Daniel's parents and see the trees changing colors. Thanks again! Here are a few pictures of our adventure!

26th Birthday!

My 26th birthday was on Sept 3! Yes, it feels somewhat weird to be over a quarter of a century. Daniel asked me if I felt older this year. I told him yes and no. I feel wiser now being married, but it doesn't seem that my body is catching up with my age. Oh well, I guess that is a good thing. Here are some pictures from our late night celebration!

Last Beach trip of the summer!

We decided to take our last beach trip to the Outer Banks this year! We did lots of fun things. We saw the Wrights Brothers Memorial, saw two lighthouses, and climbed one. We also stayed and visit with my brother and sister-in-law, who live there. It was a great visit! Here are a few pictures!

Family Reunions!

We recently attended a two family reunions this summer. We were so glad to get a full 10 days off work and fly out west. The first few days we spent seeing mainly my family where we stayed in a cabin in Heber City, Utah. Also we spent a day to see Daniel's good friend from his mission, Robert Kuder as well as his aunt and uncle Dave and Debra and his cousins, John and Jessica Tiek, that all lived nearby. The last five days of our vacation, we visited my good friend Candiss in Logan and then we drove to Idaho for my mom's family reunion. It was so great to see family and my cousins who I have not seen in may years and their children as well. Here a some pictures from our wonderful adventure!

Busch Gardens

We were jealous that the Halls and my parents went to Disneyworld without inviting us, so we decided to take our OWN trip to Busch Gardens. Okay, not really. Some people that Daniel works with were planning a day trip to Busch Gardens and invited us to go. So, on Saturday, we left at the earliest we could 7am, and drove from Greenville to Williamsburg, VA where the park is located. We spent the entire time doing something. First roller coaster was Loch Ness Monster, then a motion 4-D simluator in Ireland called Cork Screw Hill, then onto the Alpengeist. Then it was time for some lunch, although I don't understand how anyone gets hungry after riding roller coasters. After lunch, we split up a little. Daniel and I went to a show called Pet Shennigans, where trained pets do some stunts. That was just for me, since I am not a fan of roller coasters. Then we met back up with the rest of the group where they rode the Apollo's chariot which was Daniel's favorite, and then they had to ride the newest roller coaster called the Griffon that takes you up 210 feet, holds up at the top of a 90 degree drop and then lets you go. Sounds like fun huh?! It was a good day. The weather cooperated no rain, but no sun either. Everyone had fun! and me, I learned something new about my husband's love for roller coasters.

One year anniversary trip!

Here is a picture and a neat video from our recent trip to Myrtle Beach for our 1 year anniversary! It was much needed and very nice to get away from work and just enjoy being together. We were gone Fri, Sat and Sunday. On Friday night, we had a nice relaxing dinner. Saturday was our big day. We went and enjoyed the beach, by laying out; then to Ripley's aquarium where we walked under sharks and all kinds of fish. Then we walked around at Brodway at the beach where we discovered the best candy store in the world. That night, we went to dinner and entertainment at Medieval Times, where they dress up like peasants, and knights fought each other on real horses. It was a exciting day! We had a blast! If you would like, there are more pictures of the trip on our public Google page. Thanks to all of you for your wishes! And thanks to my wonderful and loving husband for a great trip and year! I couldn't ask for anything more!

Daniel and I made a fun trip in March to the ZOO! Both of us hadn't been in awhile, and the weather finally permitted us to go, so one weekend we had off, we drove to Raleigh, spent the night and then spent all day Saturday at the Zoo! It was neat to see the all the animals and great to be outside with the beautiful weather. Here is a picture of me at one of the exhibits. The rest are posted are our Google public gallery. Enjoy!

Coming up on the one year mark!

It's been a year now since I have been married to my wonderful husband. I thought it would be interesting to share some of the things that I have learned in the past year about marriage and about my husband.

1. It really doesn't matter how it gets done, just that it gets done.
2. Don't discuss important things when you're both tired and hungry.
3. Men have a warmer body temprature almost all of the time.
4. Men like their personal space and time to do guy things, just allow it.
5. A guy really cannot function well without proper sleep and nourishment.
6. A guy will open up to you if you shut your mouth and open your ears.
7. Tone of voice really does not matter, its more about what you say.
8. Communication isn't just about talking, its understanding each other.
9. Guys like to have their "guys things" (like a nice TV, nice stereo, nice car, etc)

I am sure there is more but this is all I can think of right now! Thanks babe for a great year! Love you lots!

New Boss and Favorite Word

I am blogging about work today. All in all exciting. (Not really) Anywho, recently, there have been lots of things going on in the Patient and Food Administration Department. With the opening of the New Heart Insitute, there have been lots of extra work for everyone and it has been a little overwhelming, especially for my manager. It just seemed that she was stressed out by out the new responsibilites that she had and that came with the opening of the Heart Institute. The result; lots of things were getting neglected that were not priority over the Heart Institute. So, as a result of that, the other managers in the Department went to my manager, told her to take a vacation and when she returned they would have her a new position working as a manager in the new heart institute. Sounds like a great opportunity. Really its the other way around, its a downgrade in pay and perhaps some other things as well. In the meantime, they are looking for someone to replace her. Until then, they brought in a interim manager and if they do not find someone to replace my old manager, they will offer the manager position to this interim manager. The new interim manager is a older man, from another country. He is Irish, but also a Jew. He has been very interesting addition so far. He has only been here about a week, and made many changes. Some of which some have not been so fond on. He has talked to us to many times about these changes which is great. Its nice to finally know what is going on. He told me the other day that some of the things going on here right now are horsepoop. Yes, horsepoop. My new favorite word. We shall see how these new changes will be or perhaps they will become more horsepoop too. Toodles!

Scary Dentist!

I did it! I went in today to get 4 fillings! I was nervous for sure. So the doctor prescribed me some Atvin, that works like valium. They also gave me some Nitrous Oxide, which we very helpful. Within an hour, they were done! It was amazing and great that I was almost pain-free! Daniel of course, stayed in the room with me and then drove me home. Where I have just recently gotten up from sleeping for 6 hrs! My first experience with cavtiy feelings has been good. We just must make sure that we have go dental insurance. Love ya guys!

Edenton!

Daniel and I had the day off yesterday, so we decided to take a small trip to the coastal town of Edenton! It was so neat! We discovered that there was a battle there from the Revolutionary War and that one of the signers of the Declaration lived there! We saw a few historic homes, as you can see from the pictures, ate some lunch at the Soda Shoppe and walked into a few shops to browse! It was just nice to be outside and out of Greenville!

Long time pass with no post!

Time flies when your busy! The past two months it seems like all we do is sleep, eat and work. We did do one or two fun things. Daniel's birthday came at the end of February! That day, I fixed him a special breakfast! He loved it! I don't have any pictures, sorry! That weekend, his parents took us out to dinner at Cheesecake Factory! Sooooo good and so nice to see his parents again! We also went and did a temple session! What a great way to end the month! This month, we were wanting to go to the Zoo this weekend, but it is deciding to rain the entire day. What a bummer! Also, this month, I am going to the dentist to get some cavities filled! What a joy! Not really, I hate the dentist, so pray for me. Maybe next month will be better.
