New President!?

It seems that everyone is talking about the election and the new president. I had a girl at Walmart the other day randomly ask me if I was excited about the new president. I lied and told her that I thought Obama would do a good job. In reality, I disagree with some of the things that Obama will do for this country. I don't like the fact that he supports abortion, or the idea of raising taxes, or pulling the troops out of Iraq, who are protecting the people who are innocent in this whole war. Daniel and I were able to watch the ending speeches of each candidate the other night. It was very interesting to see how each one spoke. It was a neat experience to see McCain, and his humility toward Obama. I love the moment when he mentioned God. On the other hand, Obama, was almost the complete opposite. He only said one thing about McCain, and then proceeded to make alot promises to the country of what we needed to do, that America needed to save themselves. He made no mention of any higher being. Well, I won't say much more, for I know that our Heavenly Father knows of our situation as a country and won't let anything happen that is against his plan. I do love what Bush said after the election, "May God bless who ever wins the election," and I think he knew that it needed to be said.

DC Trip!

We finally went to DC! This past weekend Daniel and I drove up to DC to visit my cousin's Paige and Steve, and to see the sights! We didn't do as much as we wanted for one, it was cold and raining, but we did do a session in the DC temple. What a beautiful experience! We also saw the view from the top of the Washington Monument, walked downtown where we had dinner at Hard Rock Cafe, and then after trudging through the rain, seeing the National Air and Space Museum. It was a weekend we will never forget!

Tags!

I have finally been tagged! I'll make this a combination of 7 quirky/random things about me. Here you go! (PS: So of you may already know these)

1. I can't sleep with socks on! I wake up and take them off in the middle of the night!

2. I can't sleep without some kind of blanket covering me, even when its 100 degrees.

3. I have to rinse the dishes before putting them in the dishwasher. I have had too many experiences where they don't come clean, even with new dishwashers.

4. I love animals but I hate animal hair!

5. I have a very sensitive nose.

6. I love collecting cool pencils and pens.

7. I still hold my nose when going under water, although I rarely go under anymore b/c my ears get water in them.

Well, I am sure that there are more random things about me, but there you are!

New Employee Story

Because of my new job, I had to do all the necessary things for New Hires like getting my updated eye exam and getting some necessary vaccines. There is a short story to tell though. First of all, like many people, am I not a fan of needles. So, last week I got that all done. Well, the few days before I went to get my shots, I was somewhat nervous about getting them. I got up that morning, and because of time, I didn't eat breakfast b/c my stomach had been bothering me. So, I went in for my appointment and was fine with a TB test. I then watched her give me the dTAP vaccine, and within a few seconds, I had passed out. I woke up to the nurse asking me if I was ok. I responded that I wasn't sure, b/c I didn't know what happened. They discovered that my blood pressure had dropped, causing me to black out. I am still not sure what caused it entirely, but they found that everything else was fine, except that when I had passed out, I hit my head face first on the desk, braking my right front tooth right in half. Luckily, the people there at the facility did all they could to help me feel better and even scheduled an appointment at the dentist that day to fix my tooth. So, I think from now on, I will be more careful when I get vaccines or shots.

It's definitely Fall!

It's finally gotten cold here in eastern NC. Daniel and I decided that we would do some "Fall" things! On October 10, we went over to a farm, did a "Haunted" Hayride, which was more entertaining than scary. We also picked up some cute pumpkins to carve, which we did today! This past week we also made plans to attend the NC State Fair! We had a blast! We ate fried food of all kinds, played one game, which cost us an arm and a leg, then Daniel talked me into riding a ride! It was fun! He made me laugh the entire time! Then this coming weekend we are taking a road trip to see some sights and visit my cousins, Paige and Steve, up in Washington DC! We are very excited! We will post pictures! Hope everyone fall is going well!

Charleston, SC!

Here are a few pics from our trip this past weekend! We both had the weekend off, and decided to leave Greenville for a few days! We went to South of the Border (which was not as great as we thought), went to the beach at night, toured Fort Sumter and Historic downtown Charleston, and went to the Botantical Garden in Fayetteville on the way home! We were able to stay with Daniel's good friends, Daniel and Lisa Robinson, who moved there from Greenville. In the midst all this, they were moving into their new house. Thanks again guys! Enjoy the pics!
